FAQ's

You've got Questions..
We've got Answers

Q: When are the class sessions?

A:
We meet every Tuesday and Thursday evening, from 7:00pm - 8:30pm ET. (4:00pm - 5:30pm for you left coasters.) We'll have a few optional Saturday morning workshops as well.

Q: What happens if I can't attend all the live sessions?

A: The kids get sick, the in-laws visit, clients have urgent projects...we get it!  All classes are recorded and posted on our course platform so you can watch later. We do encourage you to attend as many live classes as possible though!

Q: Is there really homework?

A: You bet! That's where the magic -- aka learning -- happens. Between class sessions, you'll immediately apply the lessons learned to your own finances. We'll be here for any questions along the way.

Q: I live outside the U.S. Is the course still applicable to me?

A: Absolutely! About 65% of the content applies to any culture and monetary system (think saving, diversification, financial goals). Some content is of course specific to the U.S. (you can't talk money without talking retirement accounts, income taxes, and credit scores.) We generally try to make the Saturday workshops the bulk of the U.S.-only material. We've had several students join from outside the U.S. and they've all found the course extremely valuable.

Q: Is this unlimited financial planning from a CFP® professional?

A: Haha, no. Rob is indeed a CFP® professional, though this course is not meant to give or replace individual finance advice. The course is designed for folks who are eager to learn how to manage their own finances. We will talk plenty of details, such as how to evaluate if you should roll-over a prior 401(k) for example, but we won't be meeting 1:1 behind a big mahogany desk.

Q: Is this course worth the price?

A: We think so, but don't just take our word for it. All of our graduates have agreed the course tuition was worth every penny and then some. And if you're a numbers person, each 90-minute class works out to be about $65.

We also have the Compound Promise if for some reason you feel you are not getting the value from your investment. This only works for us if it works for you.

Q: What technology will we be using? What do I need?

A: We'll use zoom for live classes, Thinkific for course management and content, and Slack for communicating during, between, and after classes. We'll weave them together...it's not too scary, we promise. You just need an internet connection and webcam. A second monitor/screen is helpful but not necessary.

Q: What if I'm a financial novice? What if I'm the next Warren Buffett?

A: Everyone is welcome here at Compound and we mean it. The course is designed with a crawl, walk, run framework. We've had beginners and experts in previous cohorts and there is learning at all levels. Far more important than your financial vernacular is your willingness to be open and participate.

Q: What if I still have questions?

A: "FIRE"-away! Drop a line at info@hellocompound.com and we'll answer, or make something up that sounds like an answer.
